Premiered at The Sembrich in 2023, Mi Mexico Querido is on its way to Carnegie Hall! This spectacular is a live musical performance expressing the vivid colors of Mexico — a journey of captivating lyrics and nostalgic poetry of one of the most beloved cultures of the Americas.

Award-winning Mexican tenor Leonardo Sánchez alongside Grammy-winning guitarist and producer Humberto Flores, take you through an authentic experience by reviving a specially selected repertoire of huapangos, boleros, rancheras, and more.

Take part in this wondrous experience by reliving memories guided by the beats of the traditional guitarron, the powerful melodies of the guitar and accordion. Mi Mexico Querido will fill audiences with great joy and admiration for the beauty of Mexican music.

About The Artists

At only 27 years old, Leonardo Sánchez continues to dazzle audiences and panelists like, winning over the hearts of spectators and dozens of international competitions and contests. He is the youngest tenor to have won first place, The Special Prize, and The Youth Revelation Prize during the “Carlo Morelli” national singing competition at the Opera of Bellas Artes in Mexico, which are considered to be some of the most important prizes in Mexico and Latin America.

Leonardo is a member of the Chanteurs Solistes program, where he continues his training with soprano Jeanne-Michelle Charbonnet. He is also one of the youngest artist ambassadors of the international program “Opera for Peace”, and was the youngest member of the “International Opernstudio” at the Zürich Opera, Switzerland, a top-tier program for young singers, where he received master classes from Brigitte Fassbaender, Piotr Beczala, and Carmen Santoro.

Humberto Flores is a Grammy-winning guitarist, composer, and music producer who has spent four years studying and working in Italy, and has worked in the American music industry in New York City since 2011. Humberto is a well known studio and touring musician, composer and arranger, having performed his compositions with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Te Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and the Villalobos Brothers. He has recorded for Bruce Springsteen and Te Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, and has collaborated with Antonio Sanchez, Regina Carter, Vince Cherico, Ana Tijoux and Israel Varela.

Humberto has toured through India, Russia, Prague, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and more than 30 US states, performing as a guitarist and the Musical Director of Te Villalobos Brothers. Humberto founded BF Producciones in Mexico, where he is actively producing and supervising emerging artists of various genres while contributing to the growing artistic landscape.
