August 22, “And Titanic and the Band that Played On” multimedia talk with Thomas Marson & the Hyperion String Quartet, 7:30 pm, $20 A trove of Titanic lore and legend: the  tunes the band played that last night from the music salon repertoire of the Gilded Age; profiles of the seven musicians and their leader; differing ear- and eyewitness accounts of the band’s heroism

August 25, Concert with the Hyperion String Quartet,  7:30 pm, $25 A concert that voyages to numerous locales from Germany and Austria (Haydn’s Quartet in C major, op. 76 no. 3 “Emperor”), to China (Tan Dun’s Eight Colors for String Quartet), and lastly to Hungary
(Brahms’ String Quartet in A minor, op. 51, no. 2)

September 1, An All-Chopin Salon Recital with pianist Christopher Johnson,  7:30 pm, $30 Travel to Marcella Sembrich’s homeland, Poland, for an evening of waltzes, mazurkas and romantic music by the all-time most beloved composer of music for piano

September 14-15, “Unsinkable Women: Stories and Songs from the Titanic,” Wood Theater, 7:30 pm, $28
