The fascinating life and times of Sembrich contemporary, soprano Bertha Crawford.

In January 1919, when the Warsaw Philharmonic put on a concert “In Honour of the Allies” who supported the newly won independence of Poland, the soprano soloist who represented American was, in fact, the Canadian Bertha Crawford (1886-1937). Over a 20-year career, Crawford was a cultural chameleon, who used her singing to represent the British, Americans, Italians and French on stages across Russia and Poland. A compelling multimedia presentation of the tale of a woman from small-town Ontario who became an international opera star on the stages of Eastern Europe.
