Join us for an exotic evening on the Danube, abounding with sights, sounds and culinary delights! Featuring brilliant violinist Daniel Szasz, concertmaster of the Alabama Symphony and the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, and international cimbalom virtuoso Sandor Kuti performing the evocative melodies and stirring dance rhythms of Brahms, Lehar, Liszt and Bartók. With guest appearances by The Üsztürü Ensemble.

A versatile musician, interested in performing both standard and less familiar repertoire, Mr. Szasz has been consistently praised for his “expressive, rich and warm sound” as well as for his “strong, confident, and assertive playing.”  His performances have been described as “breathtaking” and “exquisite” and have generated great enthusiasm among his audiences and in the press.

Sándor Kuti is one of Hungary’s most renowned cimbalom artists.  Growing up in a family of gypsy musicians, Mr. Kuti started playing the cimbalom at the age of 6. At the age of 14 he became a member of the world renowned Rajko Orchestra and over the years he has performed with many famous gypsy musicians, including members of the Lakatos family, Sándor Jároka and numerous others.  Equally accomplished on the classical stage, Mr. Kuti has been featured with symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

A festive Hungarian-themed lakeside reception will feature select delicacies, music, and wine.
